BEXSERO (Meningococcal Group B) is a vaccine that is approved for use in individuals aged 10 through 25 years to prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B. It is a single-dose vaccine that is administered as a subcutaneous injection. The vaccine is made up of four outer membrane proteins (OMPs) that are found on the surface of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup B bacteria. These OMPs are thought to be important for the bacteria's ability to cause disease.
